Sugar – a nutritional villain

Brian Trouville, Southside Paddlers coach, takes a very keen interest in health issues and what food we use to fuel our bodies. He recommends you listen to the attached podcast if you would like to be more informed about sugar, and how much is in your diet!

David Gillespie has taken up arms, figuratively speaking, against what he says is the nutritional villain of our times: sugar.

David Gillespie is not a nutritionist, or a scientist, or a doctor.

He was a very overweight lawyer, who decided to examine just why – despite years of dieting – he was 40 kg overweight.

What he found out about sugar, specifically fructose, and its role in obestity, is startling.

David wrote his first book Sweet Poison in 2008, and followed up with The Sweet Poison Quit Plan last year, both published by Penguin.
